Apple unveiled the new MacBook family of laptops at the company's 'Spring Forward' event in San Francisco on Monday, March 9. Available from April 10th on the Apple Online Store.

The new MacBook family of laptops is reinvented in every way, with new Macs that are thinner and lighter than ever. Every component of the new MacBook has been meticulously redesigned to create a Mac computer that weighs less than 1 kg and is only 13.1 mm thick.

The new MacBook has a 12-inch Retina display, the thinnest ever built into a Mac; an Apple-designed full-size keyboard that's thinner than ever and more responsive; the new Force Touch trackpad, which brings a new level of interactivity to the Mac; a super compact USB-C port for data transfer, video output and charging, all in a single connector; and an innovatively designed battery, which optimizes every millimeter of space to offer a day's battery life.

At just 13.1mm thick at its tallest point, the new MacBook design is 24% thinner than the 11" MacBook Air. With a new precision-milled unibody shell featuring Wi-Fi antennas integrated and with a top embellished with the Apple logo in polished stainless steel, the MacBook is available in three finishes: gold, silver and space gray.

The new MacBook is developed around a new regular-sized keyboard, 34% thinner, and uses a butterfly mechanism that offers a thickness 40% thinner than the scissor mechanism adopted by common keyboards, and is also four times more stable; Furthermore, each key is equipped with an individual backlight LED.

The new MacBook is equipped with a 'stepped' shaped battery for 35% greater autonomy than traditional batteries, guaranteeing autonomy of one day, up to 9 hours for wireless web browsing and up to 10 hours for movie playback.

The MacBook has the latest wireless technologies, including 802.11ac Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0, for lightning-fast wireless connectivity.

The new MacBook will be available from Friday 10 April on the Apple Online Store, at Apple Stores and some Apple Authorized Resellers. MacBook is available with a 1.1GHz dual-core Intel Core M processor with Turbo Boost speeds up to 2.4GHz, 8GB of memory, 256GB flash drive and Intel HD Graphics 5300 processor at a price starting from 1,499 euros; and with a 1.2GHz dual-core Intel Core M processor with Turbo Boost speeds up to 2.6GHz, 8GB of memory, 512GB flash drive and Intel HD Graphics 5300 processor at a price starting from 1,829 euros.
